Tajikistan and UN forge economic ties

The parties agreed to continue to expand and strengthen partnerships to sustain Tajikistan’s economic growth.

Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda met with UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan Ramaswami Parvathy. He thanked her for fruitful cooperation, which is important for developing Tajikistan’s economy and achieving its strategic goals, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan reported.

The interlocutors noted that cooperation led by President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with partners, including the UN, plays a key role in fostering economic growth and achieving sustainable development.

The talks focused on the prospects for expanding cooperation, attraction of grant funding for new projects and preparations for a meeting of the National Development Council.

Ramaswami Parvathy expressed readiness to support sustainable economic development of Tajikistan and contribute to the activities of the National Development Council.
