On June 3, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin in Almaty, who arrived in Kazakhstan to participate in a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reports.
The interlocutors discussed strengthening the strategic partnerships and alliance between the two countries.
Particular attention was paid to the promotion of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the prospects for Eurasian integration.
Tokayev emphasised the important role of parliaments in ramping up cooperation and urged to promote inter-parliamentary relations. He noted that this will contribute to the well-being of the peoples of Kazakhstan and Russia.
Volodin conveyed warm greetings from RF President Vladimir Putin to Tokayev. Volodin arrived in Kazakhstan for a working visit on June 2 and chaired the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on June 3.
