The IX International Cultural and Educational Forum «Children of the Commonwealth» will take place in Cholpon-Ata, on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul from June 25 to July 4. The organizers of the event are the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Children from Kyrgyzstan will present the national traditions and customs of their country. Schoolchildren from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will take part in the forum.
The children’s events include exhibitions, master classes, sports competitions, brain games, training seminars, music competitions, art shows, etc.
«The main project goal is to bring up children in the spirit of good neighbourliness and friendship. Children will learn a lot of new things about the countries of the Commonwealth, and bright impressions and the joy of making friends are waiting for them,» Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitry Kobitsky said.
The International Cultural and Educational Forum «Children of the Commonwealth» started on the initiative of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and was supported by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. The first forum took place in Cholpon-Ata in 2013. It was held in St. Petersburg in 2021 and at the Semurg children’s camp in Uzbekistan in 2023. In total, over 700 schoolchildren have taken part in the Forum since it was established.
