On May 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova held a meeting with Regional Representative for Central Asia of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Matilda Bogner in Ashgabat, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
The parties discussed current issues of Turkmenistan-OHCHR cooperation. The Turkmen side stated that official Ashgabat is implementing close and effective partnerships with the international organisations to further strengthen democratic institutions and meet its human rights obligations.
They reviewed the activity of the Interagency Commission on Enforcing Turkmenistan’s International Obligations on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. In this context, the interlocutors emphasised a positive dialogue with the United Nations as part of this interaction mechanism.
