On May 25, heavy rains caused mudflows and landslides in several regions of the Republic, damaging residential buildings, household plots, roads and other infrastructure facilities. Though the property is damaged, no injuries have been reported, the press office of the Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defence of Tajikistan reported.
The regions hit by the natural disaster include Varzob, Shakhrinav and Gissar districts, Faizabad, Sangvor and Farkhor among others.
Currently, rescuers from different regions of the country are working to mitigate the damages caused by the natural disaster.
In April, heavy rains hit Tajikistan and triggered mudflows that swept over several areas, swamping basements, auxiliary buildings and household plots.
