The issues under discussion at the Kazakhstan-Singapore Business Forum included the key aspects of the implementation of the Alatau City project in Almaty Region, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reports.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev emphasised an important role of Alatau City as an economic driver not only in the country, but also in the Central Asian region. He noted that talks on the project were held with the senior officials of Singapore.
It is planned to build an integrated metropolis on the model of Singapore. It was stated that it can become a high-level international business centre. Particular attention is paid to infrastructure, the use of advanced construction technologies and support for such promising industries as IT, start-ups, research and development and healthcare.
The Government of Kazakhstan has established the Alatau special economic zone, which should ensure successful project implementation.
