Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov informed President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev on the progress in repairing the damages caused by floods and providing assistance to flood victims, the press office of the President of the Republic reported.
He reported that the Government is strictly monitoring the ongoing work.
Over 61,000 people have returned to their homes, and those who are staying in the evacuation centres are being provided with essential support. Over 26,000 families have received financial assistance in the total amount exceeding 10 billion tenge.
Work is underway to hand over new homes for flood victims. To date, 239 families have moved to new houses and apartments. It is planned to build 873 residential buildings for these purposes. 891 families have received home repair and renovation compensation. 11,137 residential buildings have been inspected, and flood damage assessment has been conducted at 7,863 facilities.
