On May 20, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with RF Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov. According to the press office of the Kazakh leader, the diplomat arrived in Astana to participate in a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The meeting was another step to promote Kazakhstan-Russia relations in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. The interlocutors focused on strengthening trade and economic relations and boosting investment and industrial cooperation.
Tokayev emphasised the importance of implementing the high-level agreements, noting that all the provisions are of strategic importance and aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries.
The interlocutors discussed current issues on the regional and global agenda, as well as cooperation within integration associations and in multilateral formats.
