On August 24, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Aibek Moldogaziev held a meeting with a delegation of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET). The delegation was headed by AFET Chair David McAllister, the Telegram channel Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The delegation consisted of Deputy Chair of the AFET Committee Željana Zovko, members of the European Parliament and the Secretariat and political advisers.
The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation, including the mechanisms and framework for interaction between the Government of Kyrgyzstan and the European Parliament. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that inter-parliamentary cooperation plays an important role in promoting relations between the countries.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the level of dialogue and plans for the next meeting of the Committee for Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation.
AFET Chair David McAllister confirmed that the European Parliament is ready to promote partnerships with Kyrgyzstan. He also called the Republic a leader in democratic reforms and the protection of human rights.
