4 presidential candidates registered at Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan will elect a new head of state on July 9 this year

The Central Election Commission has registered 4 presidential candidates at the meeting. The presidential elections in the Republic will be held on July 9, Gazeta.uz reports.

In accordance with the decision of the Central Election Commission, Ulugbek Inoyatov (People’s Democratic Party), Shavkat Mirziyoyev (Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People — Liberal Democratic Party), Robakhon Makhmudova (Adolat Social Democratic Party) and Abshukur Khamzaev (Ecological Party) will be running for president in the upcoming elections.

The leaders of the Milliy Tiklanish party decided not to nominate their candidate, but to support Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Central Election Commission stated that the election campaign will start on June 7 and last until voting day. The candidates received free airtime on the republican and regional television and radio channels of the National Television and Radio Company, as well as placed their programmes in local newspapers.
