President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President Sadyr Japarov during his working visit to Kyrgyzstan. The interlocutors focused on the delimitation and demarcation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border, the press office of the Tajik leader reports.
The two leaders discussed the urgent issues and prospects for bilateral cooperation and key priorities of the regional and international agenda.
They expressed satisfaction with the recent agreements on the demarcation line between the two countries.
Sadyr Japarov and Emomali Rahmon called for the fruitful continuation of border talks and the search for mutually acceptable solutions based on mutual respect and trust.
The two leaders reaffirmed the importance of maintaining the ties of friendship and good neighbourliness between the two countries and noted the need to resolve emerging issues only by political and diplomatic means.
As reported, the city of Cholpon-Ata will host the Second European Union-Central Asia Summit chaired by President Sadyr Japarov.
