Uzbekistan and World Bank agree to implement projects worth $4 billion

The Republic continues to cooperate with the Bank in energy, transport, healthcare, education and other sectors.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani met to discuss new joint projects. The total cost of joint projects is about $4 billion, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The interlocutors noted the positive experience of cooperation over the past years. The World Bank and Uzbekistan have implemented joint projects worth over $11 billion in various fields.

The World Bank and Uzbekistan work together in such important areas as agriculture, education, healthcare, transport infrastructure, agricultural industry and microfinance, among others.

The World Bank Vice President supported the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and noted that the Bank is ready to continue to contribute to implementing economic development projects.
