Ambassador of Kazakhstan received by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev

The meeting focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Newly appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel presented his letters of credence to President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

Accepting the letters of credence, President Aliyev noted the dynamic development of cooperation between the two states, emphasising that mutual top-level visits have served to boost partnerships in key areas.

Noting that the priority areas of cooperation with Kazakhstan include transport and logistics, the President of Azerbaijan emphasised that the implementation of infrastructure projects opens up additional opportunities to increase freight transportation.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan shared the opinion of President Ilham Aliyev on the importance of boosting bilateral trade and economic cooperation and implementing international projects that are important for economic growth not only of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, but also of other countries in the region. These projects include the Trans-Caspian transport route and a fibre-optic communication line on the bottom of the Caspian Sea.

An exchange of views on key aspects of collaboration within international organisations, including the Organization of Turkic States, took place during the meeting.
