On May 30, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Chairman of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov, who reported on the activities of the lower house of the Parliament, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reports.
The Speaker of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan reported that since the beginning of the session, which started in March this year, the Parliament has drafted 75 laws, 14 of which have been adopted and submitted to the Senate. The draft laws under consideration deal with online platforms, the procedure for the recovery of illegally obtained assets, the implementation of the National Fund for Children Initiative and the improvement of housing law.
Koshanov reported that parliamentarians actively work with voters; they receive citizens, conduct off-site meetings of parliamentary committees and raise acute issues in their inquiries.
He noted that the Parliament would hear the report of the Government and the Supreme Audit Chamber on the execution of the 2022 state budget within the coming days.
