Kazakhstan and Germany hold political consultations in Berlin

Political consultations were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and an official of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.

On March 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko and Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Matthias Lüttenberg held political consultations on key aspects of cooperation in international and regional politics in Berlin, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Germany Nurlan Onzhanov and the officials of the foreign ministries of the two states attended the meeting.

Deputy Minister Vasilenko briefed his German counterparts on socio-economic and political reforms launched at the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan and the results of the parliamentary elections, which were held this month.

Matthias Luttenberg highly evaluated the recent parliamentary elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan and emphasised that Germany welcomes the reforms launched in Kazakhstan. The official of the Federal Foreign Office said Kazakhstan is «an illustrative example of the protection of human rights» and «a driver of democratic transformations in the regional context».

The parties agreed to further build up cooperation in culture and education, noting the positive dynamics of the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Roman Vasilenko met with the members of the Bundestag to discuss the results of the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan and took part in a press conference with German journalists during his visit to Berlin.
