President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Farhod Rakhimi met with Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoriev in Dushanbe. The interlocutors considered setting up the Division of Studies in Russia at the NAST, the press office of the RF Embassy reported to CentralAsia.news.
This initiative was put forward by Grigoriev. He emphasised that the Division can be set up at one of the research institutions of the Academy. Rahimi supported this initiative.
The interlocutors discussed key aspects of cooperation between the parliaments of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation. They highly evaluated the current level of inter-parliamentary relations.
Last June, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan met with Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anton Varfolomeev in Dushanbe. They considered the participation of Russian researchers in expeditions to the Pamirs (a mountain system in the south of Central Asia and in the north of the Himalayas, mainly in Tajikistan) and scientists of the Republic of Tajikistan in an international seminar on water management and ecology.
