On March 13, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a platoon of the border troops of the State Security Service in Surkhandarya Region. He inspected the conditions created in the administrative building of the outpost and the state of military equipment and weapons, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
Mirziyoyev was informed in detail about the measures taken to protect the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan border. The Uzbek leader emphasised the importance of using drones to defend the state border.
In Uzbekistan, great attention is paid to strengthening social protection of military servants and their families, along with increasing combat readiness of the troops. For example, apartment houses with a landscaped adjacent area were built for border guards in vicinity of the military base.
There are children’s and sports grounds in the courtyard of apartment houses, and a sewing workshop and a confectionery workshop in the military garrison town. A bus will take children to and from school and kindergarten.
The President visited the military servants and talked to their family members.
«You play a huge role in ensuring that the defenders of the Motherland effectively perform their duties; you are responsible for raising children. You show great courage helping your husbands. You are defending the Motherland too,» the Uzbek leader addressed the wives of the military servants.
