The delegation of Uzbekistan, led by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, visited the Islamic Republic of Iran, where it held a series of meetings with the President and high-ranking government officials, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the members of the Uzbek delegation were received by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi and met with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash and Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran and Co-Chair of the Uzbekistan-Iran Intergovernmental Commission Reza Fatemi Amin.
The meetings focused on building up bilateral cooperation in key areas, including politics and diplomacy, trade and economy, transport and logistics. The participants exchanged views on the events scheduled to take place this year, as well as on the intensification of economic relations.
The Uzbekistan-Iran business forum took place as part of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Tehran. The participants discussed the progress of the implementation of joint projects in the pharmaceutical, chemical and textile industries and medical device and building material manufacturing.
The members of the Uzbek delegation met with Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Khusrav Noziri. The interlocutors discussed specific aspects of regional partnerships within the ECO.
