Tajikistan and Iran agree to build up cooperation in tourism

This issue was discussed at a meeting between the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development of Tajikistan and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Kamoliddin Muminzoda and Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Muhammad Taqi Sabiri held a meeting in Dushanbe. The interlocutors agreed to build up bilateral cooperation in the tourism industry, the press office of the Committee for Tourism Development reported to CentralAsia.news.

The officials focused on such areas of cooperation as ecological, health, hiking, mountain, historical, cultural and agricultural tourism. It was emphasised that Tajikistan has a unique nature, and health resorts are located on the territory of the Republic.

The Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development and the Ambassador expressed readiness to take part in international events in the two countries, conduct trainings and promote the tourism potential of Tajikistan and Iran.

As was reported, the Tajikistan-Iran technical commission for tourism development held its third meeting in Dushanbe in November last year. The travel companies of the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral partnerships.
