On March 13, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic commented on the agreement reached between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran to restore diplomatic ties and re-open diplomatic missions in the two states, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highly evaluated the agreements, noting that they meet the interests of the region and the spirit of peace, mutual respect and good neighbourliness.
As was reported, Saudi Arabia and Iran, whose proxy conflict is sometimes called the Middle East Cold War, agreed to restore diplomatic ties, interrupted in 2016, and return to the economic agreements signed 20 years ago. The foreign ministries of the two countries and China that brokered the deal made this statement.
In their statement, Riyadh and Tehran expressed gratitude to Beijing for supporting their good neighbourly relations and providing a platform for the final round of reconciliation talks.
