Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviews new construction projects

The projects presented for review to the President of Uzbekistan included the construction of a new city and a new customs terminal and the reconstruction of the Imam Bukhari complex.

On March 10, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the progress of the implementation of the construction projects in the capital city and the regions of the Republic, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The President was informed about the design of the project of New Tashkent City that will spring up on the territory of Yukorichirchik and Urtachirchik districts in the east of the capital city.

It is planned to build up an area of 6,000 hectares at the first project stage. The location of the main buildings was determined, and the map of roads that would connect the new city with the capital city was developed.

Up to 800,000 people will live in the new city. The buildings of ministries and departments, schools and other educational institutions, polyclinics and hospitals, a theatre, a library, hotels and apartment houses are to be built there.

The President reviewed the progress of reconstruction works on the Imam Bukhari complex in Samarkand Region and the project of the Imam Bukhari Museum. The pavilions of the museum will tell visitors about the life of Prophet Muhammad, the history of the science of hadith, the life and work of Imam Bukhari and Imam Bukhari’s Al-jome' as-sahih.

The project of a new customs terminal at the Gishtkuprik border crossing on the border with Kazakhstan was presented for review to the President.
