Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov paid an official visit to Dushanbe. At the airport, he was met by the head of the MFA of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin. After that, they held negotiations and discussed details of mutually beneficial interstate cooperation. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the Tajik department.
The officials paid attention to the partnership between Ashgabat and Dushanbe in politics and economy. Emphasis was also placed on cooperation in the humanitarian field. The ministers exchanged views on interstate cooperation within regional and international organizations.
In addition, Meredov and Muhriddin discussed the upcoming visit of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan. The trip is scheduled for the first half of April.
They also touched upon issues related to the arrangement of the fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia and the meeting of the Council of the Heads of States-founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. The events will take place in Dushanbe, in September this year.
