Tajik rescuers receive medals for their effective mission in Turkey

Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda took part in the award ceremony.

Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda awarded the medals on behalf of President Emomali Rahmon to the rescuers of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defence for their effective mission in Turkey. The rescuers pulled 3 survivors from earthquake rubble, the press office of the Committee reported to CentralAsia.news.

Together with the medals, the rescuers received the gifts, military ranks and certificates of the Committee. The solemn event took place at the training and methodological centre of the Committee. The Tajik specialists rescued an infant, a three-year-old child and a man during their mission. They pulled 217 bodies from the ruins, which were then handed over to the relatives.

The search and rescue operation of the Committee of Tajikistan lasted from 10 to 22 February. Rasulzoda noted that the rescuers had performed the tasks diligently and effectively and demonstrated a high level of professionalism.

As was reported, in accordance with the order of President Rahmon, 50 rescuers of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defence were dispatched to Turkey hit by the devastating earthquake.
