Turkmenistan invites Guatemala to join Group of Friends of Neutrality

The topic was discussed by the Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister and the Ambassador of the Central American state.
In Ashgabat, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev met with the appointed Ambassador of Guatemala Jairo David Estrada Barrios. Hajiyev offered the diplomat to consider the possibility of the republic joining the Group of Friends of Neutrality. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by  the press office of the MFA.

The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that the Group of Friends of Neutrality for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development was established at the initiative of Ashgabat under the UN in 2020. At the moment, it includes 20 states. Hajiyev explained that the countries exchange views on various issues related to international cooperation.

Estrada Barrios stressed that Guatemala is interested in deepening relations with Turkmenistan in all areas of mutual interest.

During the talks, the parties also discussed the possibility of exchanging visits of businessmen, organizing business forums, holding round tables and exhibitions with the participation of entrepreneurs and industrialists of the respective states.
