Kazakhstan to build new gas processing plants

The implementation of new projects, in particular the construction of a gas processing plant with a capacity of 1 billion cubic metres, was discussed at a government meeting.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov led a regular government meeting, at which the plans to bolster commercial gas production for the domestic market were discussed. Special attention was paid to the implementation of new projects, in particular the construction of a gas processing plant with a capacity of 1 billion cubic metres on the Kashagan gas field, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The participants noted that construction and installation works are underway on the construction site of the new gas processing plant, and equipment has been supplied. This enterprise is to be launched in 2025.

They reported on the plans to build a gas processing plant with a capacity of 4 billion cubic metres, which would allow bolstering oil production. The project will be implemented in 2 stages: 2 units with a capacity of 2 billion cubic metres each.

Commenting on the reports, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of speeding up the preparatory work and signing a Roadmap for the new gas plant in the near future.
