On February 24, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov took part in the opening ceremony of a new TB hospital in Bishkek. Ambassador of Germany to Kyrgyzstan Gabriela Guellil, Country Director of the KfW Development Bank Andreas Schneider and members of the German parliamentary delegation, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan for a visit, attended the opening ceremony, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the German side for the assistance provided, noting that since 1992, KfW has provided about 300 million euros in financial aid to Kyrgyzstan in various areas.
Baisalov said the Kyrgyz side is interested in strengthening of bilateral relations in the entire spectrum of areas.
Ambassador of Germany to Kyrgyzstan Gabriela Guellil noted that the health sector is one of the areas of bilateral cooperation. She wished the hospital staff every success in the fight against tuberculosis and other infectious diseases.
As reported, the budget of the TB city hospital that has a capacity of 128 beds is 6.5 million euros.
