UNESCO chairs to be established at two universities of Turkmenistan

The agreements were signed at the ministry of foreign affairs of the country.The Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly (TSU) and the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi (TSPI) will establish the Chairs of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The documents were signed at the ministry of foreign affairs of the country. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the diplomatic department.

Heads of higher educational institutions took part in the ceremony of signing the agreements. The UNESCO Chair «Cultural Heritage: from the past to the future» will be created at TSU, and the Сhair «Environmental Education for Sustainable Development» will be established at TSPI.

They are aimed at expanding the multilateral cooperation of Turkmen universities in science and education.

Last year, the first UNESCO Club «Languages of the World» was opened at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmamed Azadi. Later, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan established the UNESCO club «Culture of Peace».
