Tajikistan maintains economic stability amid global crises

The Ministry of Economy reviewed the progress made by the country in 2022.

Despite the negative impact of external factors, including the global crises, Tajikistan maintained macroeconomic stability thanks to the implementation of the orders of President Emomali Rahmon. Tajikistan’s industrial output growth caused GDP to increase, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade reported to CentralAsia.news.

According to the Ministry, GDP increased by 115.7 billion somoni (over $11.2 billion), or 8 percent. The inflation rate stood at 4.2 percent, which was caused by the surge in the price of food commodities by 5.2 percent, non-food commodities by 4 percent and services by 1.9 percent.

The total number of state investment projects totally worth 40 billion somoni (about $3.9 billion) stood at 72. Trade increased by 11.2 percent. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover grew to 31%.

In 2022, about 1.15 million foreign nationals visited Tajikistan, including 999,300 tourists.
