President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed to allocate 568,750 somoni (about $54,600) from his reserve fund to award the best athletes and coaches of the Republic. The Committee of Youth, Sports and Tourism will distribute the awards, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
35 winners and prize-winners of international sports competitions and specialists involved in preparing these athletes will take part in the award ceremony of the President’s Prize. The prizes range from $600 to $4,800.
The prizes will be awarded to those who will bring home medals of the boxing, judo, Greco-Roman wresting, taekwondo and freestyle wrestling tournaments.
Last year, 650 Tajik athletes participated in 64 international competitions. They won 548 medals, including 150 gold medals. 34 women athletes upheld the honour of Tajikistan at the sporting events.
