50 rescuers of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defence of Tajikistan will be sent to the Republic of Turkey. They will be dispatched in accordance with the order of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the press office of the Committee reported to CentralAsia.news.
The rescue crew will bring special emergency and rescue equipment to Turkey. They will help foreign colleagues to respond to the destruction after the devastating earthquake struck the region.
The Tajik rescue team consists of the highly qualified employees of the emergency rescue unit, a surgeon and a trauma surgeon. The Cabinet of Ministers of Tajikistan will send humanitarian aid to Turkey.
As was reported, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred on the border of Turkey and Syria. The death count has exceeded 5,000. Many people are trapped under the rubble. President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the powerful tremors had destroyed more than 3,000 buildings throughout the country.
