Turkmen departments outline tasks for protection of human rights in 2023

A meeting of the commission to ensure the implementation of international obligations in this area was held in Ashgabat.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission to ensure the implementation of Turkmenistan’s international obligations in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law. Attention was paid to the results of work last year and the action plan for the current year. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the diplomatic department.

The officials stressed that protecting the interests of the population within the framework of international norms is one of the main directions of the state policy of the Central Asian state. Emphasis was placed on a number of programs implemented in Turkmenistan.

This year, the study of world experience in the field of human rights protection will be continued. To this end, seminars, meetings and consultations with the participation of international experts will be held.

The members of the commission noted the effectiveness of national action plans in the field of human rights protection, ensuring gender equality, and the realization of children’s rights. They stressed that the relevant work is carried out in partnership with the United Nations and other international structures.
