Turkmenistan's GDP grew by 6.2% in January 2023

It was announced during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a government meeting in Ashgabat. As part of the event, Deputy Prime Minister for economy, banking and international financial institutions Hojamurat Geldimyradov reported on the results reached in the national economy, «Turkmenistan today» reports.

The official noted that the growth of gross domestic product reached 6.2 percent in January. According to him, the volume of manufactured products increased by 5.8 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

In January, 2023, the volume of retail trade increased by 9.5 percent. The revenue side of the state budget was implemented at the level of 115.7 percent, and the expenditure side — at the level of 97.4 percent. Salaries increased by 10 percent. The amount of assimilated capital investments increased by 9.1 percent.

Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of taking all necessary measures to further increase the gross domestic product and expand the potential of all sectors of the national economy. He gave Geldimyradov a number of specific instructions in the corresponding direction.
