Turkmenistan to strengthen friendly relations between Caspian littoral states

It was announced during the meeting of the Inter-ministerial Commission on the Caspian Sea.

A regular meeting of the Inter-ministerial Commission of Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea took place in Ashgabat. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, as well as heads of a number of other ministries and departments took part in the event. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the MFA.

The officials discussed the results of the work of the commission during last year. Attention was also paid to plans for the current year. Emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing the implementation of the agreements that were reached by the leaders of the Caspian littoral states at the 6th Caspian Summit, which took place in Turkmenistan on June 29, 2022.

During the meeting, it was underlined that Turkmenistan intends to continue to strengthen friendly relations between the Caspian littoral countries, as well as to ensure regional security.

At the sixth Caspian summit, the respective presidents confirmed their readiness to join efforts to implement confidence-building measures in the Caspian region and create a comprehensive political and legal framework for this.
