On January 30, Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Sherzod Kudbiyev met with World Bank Country Manager for Uzbekistan Marco Mantovanelli at the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan, the UzA portal reported.
The World Bank Country Manager was informed about the activities of the Data Processing Centre of the State Tax Committee. The Centre was set up in accordance with the Resolution of the President of Uzbekistan On Measures to implement the Tax Administration Reform Project jointly with the World Bank dated March 25, 2022.
The participants discussed the possibilities of building up capacities of the Data Processing Centre, including the prospects for setting up a new Data Processing Centre and stuffing it with equipment that will be fully compatible with existing one. The capacity-building project is to be implemented jointly with the World Bank. Capacity building work will be done not only at the Tax Committee, but also at other economic departments.
Marco Mantovanelli assured the Tax Committee officials that the World Bank is ready to provide support for the successful implementation of the project. Meetings will be held soon as part of the implementation of other joint projects, and a visit of a World Bank high-level delegation to Uzbekistan will be arranged.
