Turkmen students to expand interaction with peers from other countries

This will be done as part of the Strategy for International Partnership of the Youth.

In Mary province, Turkmenistan, at an offsite government meeting, the issue of creating a long-term strategy for the international partnership of the Turkmen youth was considered. Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov pointed out the expediency of developing the document, «Turkmenistan today» reports.

The head of the MFA touched upon the topic in the report on the development of youth partnership. As part of the strategy, the interaction of students with foreign peers in culture, economy, science, education and sports will be expanded.

Meredov suggested creating an International Center for Young Diplomats on the basis of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, opening branches of foreign universities at Turkmen higher educational institutions, and creating a National Center for High Technologies.

The official also pointed out the importance of developing the Young Talents program to intensify contacts among students in the field of culture. In addition, he proposed to regularly hold International Youth Games. Particular attention was paid to the need to expand the interaction of Turkmenistan with the UN, OSCE, CIS in education.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov underlined the importance of having educated, physically developed and patriotic youth. He suggested inviting famous scientists to local universities. The leader of the country also noted the importance of partnership in the field of high technologies.
