Tajikistan celebrated the Day of Customs Service. Chairman of the Customs Service of Tajikistan Khurshed Karimzoda reported on the milestones in the activities of the Customs Service and its plans for the current year, the Khovar State News Agency reported.
He emphasised that significant progress had been made in many important areas.
In accordance with the instructions of President Emomali Rahmon, the Customs Service of Tajikistan has fulfilled the mission to ensure economic security of the Republic, prevented the import of extremist literature into the country and continues to combat illicit drug trafficking, Karimzoda noted.
The subdivisions of the Customs Service processed 125,318 customs declarations through the Unified Automated Information System.
He emphasised that this year the Customs Service of the Republic of Tajikistan is tasked to achieve substantial progress in defending economic interests of the country.
