An official award ceremony for students of local higher educational institutions who took part in the development of the design of the new administrative center of Ahal province — the «smart» city Arkadag was held in Turkmenistan. It was reported by the information and analytical Internet portal «MIR 24».A fifth-year student at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan Gochmammet Churiyev noted that he was very grateful for the high appreciation of his work in creating the design of the city. He thanked President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the opportunity.
The new administrative center of Ahal province is located thirty kilometers away from Ashgabat, the capital of the Central Asian state. The construction started in April 2019. The «smart» city occupies 950 hectares.
Approximately 70 thousand citizens of Turkmenistan will live in Arkadag. About 1.5 billion US dollars were allocated for the implementation of the project. The city will have smart residential buildings controlled via smartphones.
