Air Astana flight encounters severe turbulence: no one is seriously injured

The crew members provided timely psychological assistance and first aid to the passengers.

On January 2, Flight KS128 by the Air Astana Airbus A321 (Kazakhstan) on the route Tashkent-Almaty encountered severe turbulence, KAZINFORM reported.

The flight crew took the aircraft out of the risk zone and avoided the deplorable consequences. After the aircraft landed in the air harbour of the southern capital of Kazakhstan, 2 passengers were hospitalized. The flight carried 134 passengers and 9 crew members.

The crew members provided psychological assistance and first aid to the passengers. 5 passengers were injured, and 3 passengers with insignificant injuries refused from medical examination.

After the incident, 2 women, 37 and 28 years old, both citizens of Uzbekistan, were taken to city hospital 4 in Almaty. They had closed injuries of the forearm, hands, light bruises and sprains of soft tissues. The passengers are in a satisfactory condition. They have received quality medical care.

The Air Astana employees are in the healthcare facility to provide necessary assistance and support to the injured passengers.
