Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have launched implementation of top-level agreements

These agreements were reached during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan on December 21-22.

On December 29, Chairman of the Government of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a working meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov. The meeting focused on the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to Uzbekistan, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

The participants considered expanding trade and economic activities, including the creation of a Joint Foreign Trade Company. They discussed the intensification of transport and logistics partnerships, active cooperation in the industrial sector and the geography of new processing sites.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan noted that the top-level dialogue laid the groundwork for the breakthrough in priority areas of bilateral cooperation. The implementation of these areas is detailed in the Roadmap, the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov signed the Roadmap during the talks. Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov will sign the document on behalf of Uzbekistan.
