President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon addressed parliamentarians during the joint meeting of the lower and upper houses of the Parliament. He said the country has made progress in the economic sector despite the external challenges and global economic crisis, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
«2022 has been generally successful and fruitful for our Tajikistan» the President of the Republic said.
Noting that timely economic reforms and anti-crisis measures have enabled to gain these achievements over the past 5 years, the President emphasised that the economic growth rate was 7,3%, and GDP grew to 115 billion somoni (approximately $11.3 billion) over the specified period.
Wages increased 1.5 times on average. Over the past five years, more than 900,000 new jobs were created, and 1,400 industrial enterprises and facilities were put into operation.
In his message to the Parliament, the President of Tajikistan instructed that the salaries of law enforcement and military officers be increased by 25 percent. This will be done on March 1.
