Tokayev visits exhibition in Tashkent that honours legacy of great Abai

The exhibition is entitled Abay. The legacy of the fraternal peoples.

On December 22, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited an exhibition in Tashkent that vividly features the periods of life and activity of great Abai during his state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan in the orbit of cultural relations, the press office of Akorda reported.

Accompanied by his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Kazakh leader made a journey into the past that tells about the large-scale educational and creative activity of the Kazakh philosopher. The title of the exhibition Abai. The legacy of the fraternal peoples says a lot. The idea of the event is to further strengthen friendship and brotherhood.

The section featuring the paintings by the artists Abylkhan Kasteev, Ural Tansykbaev, Evgeny Sidorkin and Nurbulan Utepbaev in sequential order is some kind of extraordinary solution of the exhibition, which takes guests back to the time when great Abai lived and worked. The mysterious image of the sage came to life on their paintings, as if he was in the grip of a powerful energy sent down from above.

Another thematic pavilion told the distinguished visitors about the connecting evidence of the inspired poetry of Alisher Navoi and the creative activity of Abai Kunanbayuly. Over 120 exhibits from the collections of the Zhidebay-Berili State Historical, Cultural and Literary Memorial Museum Reserve of Abay are on display.
