Sadyr Japarov and Recep Tayyip Erdogan meet in Qatar

The leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey held talks on major aspects of bilateral and multilateral relations.

On December 18, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the World Cup in Doha, Qatar, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The leaders of the two states held talks on major aspects of Kyrgyzstan-Turkey bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Japarov and Erdogan agreed to continue an active dialogue at the highest political level.

As was reported, Japarov paid a working visit to Qatar at the invitation of Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani. In recent years, the leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Qatar have held two face-to-face meetings: the first took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, and the second — on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Astana.

During these meetings, the Emir of Qatar invited President Japarov to visit Qatar, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup final match.

As was reported, the leaders of about 30 countries of the world were invited as guests of honour to the World Cup in Qatar.
