CIS Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia closes in Tashkent

More than 200 representatives of creative and scientific circles arrived in the capital of Uzbekistan to participate in the event

On December 12-14, the capital of Uzbekistan hosted the 5th Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which brought together more than 200 representatives of science, culture and education, international organisations, ministries and departments, the press office of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan reports.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov, the rectors of Uzbek and foreign universities and journalists attended the forum. Its theme is Humanitarian cooperation — 30 years of experience and development prospects.

The programme of the forum included plenary and section sessions, concerts, meetings and exhibitions. The participants highlighted the importance of building up cultural contacts, promoting cooperation on science and education and strengthening friendship and mutual understanding among the CIS nations.

The awards «Stars of the Commonwealth» and «Debuts of the Commonwealth» were presented to representatives of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Moldova.

The participants of the meetings agreed on further measures to enhance cooperation on science, culture, education, tourism and sports.
