The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Olga Algaerova. They discussed promising aspects of the cooperation. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the MFA.
The UNECE representative first of all thanked Meredov for the invitation to take part in the international conference «Dialogue is a Guarantee of Peace», held in Ashgabat in honor of the 27th anniversary of the country’s neutrality.
Meredov noted that Turkmenistan is committed to further development of cooperation with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in the transport and logistics, trade and economic spheres.
Particular attention was paid to interaction in the framework of environmental protection. It was emphasized that Ashgabat is a member of the international campaign «Trees in Cities».
Algaerova commended the activities of the authorities of Turkmenistan in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
