Eurasian Development Bank has increased investment in Kazakhstan in 2022

The Prime Minister discussed with the Chairman of the EDB Management Board the preliminary results of this year’s activities of the financial institution and the work plan for 2023.

On December 6, Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held talks with Chairman of the EDB Management Board Nikolay Podguzov. The interlocutors reviewed the preliminary results of this year’s activities of the financial institution and the work plan for the coming year, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.

This year, the EDB has increased investment in the projects in Kazakhstan to $1.2 billion, which exceeds the planned indicators and indicators for 2021. Next year, it is planned to invest about $1.1 billion in the priority economic vectors of Kazakhstan.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of increasing the number of cooperation projects. He noted the need to move forward and dynamically increase the pool of projects.

Podguzov said it is planned to allocate at least $3.8 billion up to 2026to implement projects in the Republic.

“Funding priorities for 2023 will be the projects aimed at developing logistics infrastructure, providing water resources, achieving food and energy security and improving environmental performance,” the Chairman of the EDB Management Board said.
