On November 27, Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the International Festival and Conference “National art of singing and music in the heritage of the peoples of the world” on the opening of the forum that aims to promote the ancient national art of singing and music of the Turkmen people and showcase the achievements of other peoples of the world, the Turkmenistan Today News Agency reported.
In his message, Berdimuhamedov noted that the people of Turkmenistan are proud of the inscription of dutar making craftsmanship and traditional music performing art of baghshis combined with singing on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
“Art is a bridge of friendship, as fully illustrated by the expanding cultural dialogue with different countries of the world. We create conditions conducive to promoting our cultural heritage worldwide, revealing talents and encouraging self-improvement of artists. Our people have enormous respect for the art, as evidenced by the international festivals and conferences held in our country on a regular basis, as well as the performance of cultural workers and artists from Turkmenistan in similar events in other parts of the world. The International Festival and Conference “National art of singing and music in the heritage of the peoples of the world” will once again demonstrate Turkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening and expanding the ties of friendship and brotherhood among the peoples of the planet,” the President emphasised.
The Turkmen leader expressed belief that the participants of concerts, conferences, meetings and master classes that will take place on the platform of the forum will significantly enrich its ideological concept and demonstrate their skills and abilities to ensure a high level of organisation of the cultural event.
