On November 22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron. The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in various fields, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The leaders of the two states noted the dynamic partnerships between Uzbekistan and France in the trade, economic and political spheres, as well as within international organisations. The number of joint ventures has tripled in recent years; the value of joint projects exceeds 5 billion euros.
The interlocutors also noted the activities of such well-known French companies in Uzbekistan as Total Eren, EDF, Orano, Lactalis, Carrefour and Shiever in the energy, food, mining and other industries.
Uzbekistan cooperates with the French Development Agency in agriculture, hydropower, green economy and urban infrastructure.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and France expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation in achieving global security and countering the threats and challenges of our time.
The two countries are promoting the cultural and humanitarian interaction. The French Alliance opened a branch in Samarkand, and the 2nd Uzbekistan-France educational forum will be held in Paris on November 27-28.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emmanuel Macron met in a warm, friendly atmosphere. The Uzbek leader invited the President of France to pay a return visit to Uzbekistan.
