President of Tajikistan participates in CSTO CSC meeting in Armenia

The parties will discuss global and regional security issues and the work done by the Organisation in the intersessional period.

On November 23, Tajik leader Emomali Rahmon has left for the Republic of Armenia to take part in the regular meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council.  The President is accompanied during the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Assistant to the President for Foreign Relations, the Minister of Defence, the Secretary of the National Security Council and other officials, the press office of the Office of the President of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The participants of the meeting will discuss global and regional security issues and the work done by the Organisation in the intersessional period. The major issues under discussion include the improvement of the CSTO crisis response system and joint assistance measures to Armenia.

The parties are expected to adopt a Declaration of the Collective Security Council during the CSC session.

Before the meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council, the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers of Defence and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils will hold a joint meeting to discuss the military-political situation in the regions of collective security and the agenda of the upcoming CSC session.
