According to experts, the new line that will stretch for 836 kilometres will open a corridor for the unhindered export of domestic goods and boost the transit potential of the country. It is planned to build 419 communication facilities along the route. Construction work to be finished in the 4th quarter of 2025.

The Chairman of the Government said this strategic project is being implemented on the instructions of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev. Its practical implementation is of tremendous importance for building up capacity of Kazakhstan’s transport sector.

In this regard, the Prime Minister noted that the new railway will increase the throughput by 5 times, that is, from 12 to 60 pairs of trains. Moreover, this line will resolve the transport problems of Kazakh exporters in this vector, Alikhan Smailov emphasised.
