Tokayev and Borrell highly evaluate dynamics of Kazakhstan-EU cooperation

The President of Kazakhstan emphasised that the crowning achievement of personal meetings is a mutual understanding in many areas.

On November 17, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell. Tokayev emphasised that the visit of the European guest plays a significant role in deepening Kazakhstan-EU cooperation, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Kazakh leader noted that the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the EU launched a new stage of cooperation in all areas. In this regard, the Kazakh leader made a special emphasis on personal meetings.

He mentioned the visit of President of the European Council Charles Michel and fruitful talks with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. The President emphasised that such contacts result in the vision and understanding of many issues. He also positively evaluated the joint Memorandum signed by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and Ursula von der Leyen in Egypt.

Josep Borrell expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of partnerships and highlighted the importance of discussing common challenges on a basis of mutual trust and respect.
